A Fanli-what?

According to TFL, a fanlisting is "a web clique that lists fans of a particular subject. Unlike most web cliques, a person does not need a web site in order to join. Fans from around the world submit their information to their approved fanlisting and they are then listed to show their love for the subject."

You don't need to do anything after you join, or in order to join. If you're a fan of webdesign, all you need to do to show that you're a fan is fill out this form. Your name will be added to a list along with the other fans, as will a link to your website, if you have one. Any questions can be sent here :)

Why Webdesign?

I have spent a great deal of my time working with webdesign over the past few years. Not only is it a hobby of mine, but I'm also employed by a local school district to maintain their website. I've also had the occasional freelance webdesign work, as well as job shadowing with a professional webdesign company.

While I can't claim to have been involved with webdesign and the internet ever since it started, I can say that now it is a huge part of my life. I've spent countless hours trying to teach myself things like PHP and MySQL, as well as working with various graphic editing programs to improve my websites.

This Site

Digital Butterflies was first created by Danielle (Hoshichan). In June of 2005, she decided to adopt the fanlisting out, and allowed me to take over for her. It looks best in Mozilla Firefox at 1024 x 768, but should look fine in larger (and smaller!) screen resoultions, as well as other browsers, such as IE.

The default layout for this fanlisting was created in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Image Ready, & Macromedia Dreamweaver using pictures taken by myself as well as brushes from here. The second layout was created by Danielle, who kindly allowed to me continue using the layout after I adopted it. It was created with Photoshop, Image Ready, & BBEdit, with the image being from here.
